Ten Ways to Improve Your Instagram Page
Like any other social networking site, there are
methods to improve and make your Instagram page thrive. Here are ten ways to help your site: choose your photos wisely, cross-post with
other social networking sites, don’t forget to turn off the privacy button, do
your research, follow and friend and give accolades, geotag your photos, look
for suggested users and follow them, perfecting your craft, spacing your photographs,
and use the power of hashtags.
#1: Choose your photos wisely.
Keep
your audience in mind when choosing your photos for your site. Who are your
viewers? What’s in it for them when they
see your photograph? Audience analysis is important in photography as well as
other forms of communication. Choose photographs that will appeal to and
attract a wide audience.
#2:
Cross-post with other social networking sites.
Cross-posting
is used all the time in social networking. Widen your audience and link your
Instagram photo to your Facebook or Twitter accounts. In return, they may like,
share, and cross-post back to you.
#3: Don’t
forget to turn off the privacy button.
The privacy button has
its purpose and it is good to be able to protect yourself from photos that you
don’t necessarily want displayed all over cyberspace. However, if you do have interesting
photographs that you want to share, don’t forget to change your settings in
order
to
attract followers and make your page available to view. For posting to your
account, use the public button.
#4: Do Your Research.
Visit
other Instagram accounts. Which photos are the most popular and are getting the
most shares and views? This is a good way to do your research in order to post
your photos and improve your page. Again, keep your audience in mind, but see
what people like to view.
#5: Follow and Friend and Give
Accolades.
This
is the golden rule of social networking. Make new friends and keep the old, and
then made them happy. Giving a compliment will make someone’s day and help
build your own account. It’s a win-win and definitely good cyber karma.
#6: Geotag Your Photos.
Geotagging
your photos will allow other viewers to discover where you took the photograph
and they will be able to share their photographs that they took in a similar
location with you. Geotagging is also a great way to make followers and friends
from a geographical perspective.
#7: Look for the Suggested Users
and Follow them.
This
is similar to the concept of Facebook. The site will offer “suggested friends”
to follow. You can find friends, look up suggested users that take photos like
you, and then you can follow them. Following up on suggested friends is another
good way of building up your Instagram website.
#8:
Perfecting your Craft.
Don’t
worry about perfection when you are first starting out: just post the photos anyway! Just like any other craft, you will improve
with practice, practice, practice! Just keep snapping photos and post away.
Sometimes the slightly blurred or off-centered photo makes the most effective
image.
#9: Spacing your photographs.
Just
like blogging or writing for a website, it is a good idea to space out your
photographs. If you post too often or too many photos at once, your site will
appear cluttered, you may overwhelm your viewers, and you may not have
photographs for awhile. Consistency is key, so post a photograph a day or a
couple times a week.
#10: Use the power of hashtags.
Hashtags
are a Twitter phenomenon, and have crossed over into other social networking.
The key to using hashtags are to make sure that they are real hashtags and not
made-up ones. Viewers who try to access a hashtag that is not real is like
clicking on a dead link. Use them, but use them wisely.
There
are numerous ways to spice up your Instagram page: using hashtags, spacing your
photographs, perfecting your craft, looking for suggested friends, geotagging
your photographs, following, friending, and complimenting fellow Instagram
users, doing your research, turning off that privacy button, cross-posting to
other social media sites, and choosing your photographs wisely will help you
reinvent an amazing Instagram account!
How To Use Twitter for Marketing Your Business.
Wondering how to use social media for marketing your
business? Some of you who are less than tech savvy may even be wondering how to
use social media in general, either way, all of you need to know how to use Twitter
for social media. Facebook is also great, but if you only have time for one,
knowing how to use Twitter can prove to be a quick and effective method of
marketing your website.
How To Use Social
Media
Many of you may be on Facebook to talk with friends or maybe
do a little page snooping, but did you know that social media is becoming one
of the best places to advertise as well? Since a lot of social media marketing
has to do with user interaction, users are generally more trusting than through
other avenues. According to “Hubspot”, businesses who take advantage of social
media sites like Twitter average 2x as many leads as those who do not use it.
Speaking generally, the key to using Twitter and Facebook is content. By
developing and sharing helpful, informative, or funny content, you are going to
experience a natural level of viral marketing through likes and shares. If you struggle,
perhaps enlisting the help of a content writing service would be very
beneficial to you. Otherwise, you must continually create, share, and promote
your blogs, info-graphics, and special offers through social media.
How To Use Twitter
Now, let’s take a look at how to use Twitter for marketing.
Unlike Facebook, you only get 140 characters to capture a reader’s attention.
This will take a little practice, but with some practice, you too can learn how
to use Twitter like a pro. Although not all inclusive, here are the top 3 tips
on how to use Twitter for marketing a business or blog.
#1 Create a Hook
Since you will have limited space to gain reader attention,
you must make certain that you use every word to captivate, excite, or
intrigue. @CatfoodBreath is one of my
favorite examples of this. They have a short, catchy, and funny bio coupled
with regular witty posts. Although not the topic for everyone you could learn a
lot by watching them for a few days.
#2 Post Regularly
Tweets come and go quickly and sense you may missed your
audience the first time, post early and often, several times per day if
possible. Although you may start slowly, just stick with it and you will soon
reap the rewards…maybe.
#3 Interact with
Others
Ending point #2 on a maybe has to do with this tip. If you
do not interact with others on Twitter, you will not have any followers, so you
will be wasting your time and text. One of the best ways to get started is by
following others that seem to share a similar interest or for business, a
similar target audience. Most of the time, people will follow you back. In
addition to this, adding your Twitter page to all of your online and offline
marketing materials is another way to boost followers. Lastly, don’t be afraid
to ask, send an email to your current clients, friends, and family, this will
help you get started. Remember, the first follower is the hardest to get.
The age old adage about not putting all your eggs in one
basket applies to social media. By taking the time to learn how to use Twitter
and other social sites, you can diversify your social presence, which has been
proven to lead to an increase in lead generation. On average users spend one of
every six minutes on social media, will you be there? If not let us help you
get your social media marketing started today. Aside from social you should also reach out to clients via search marketing.
